work work work work !!!!!!
Hasn't been blogging much lately. Work has somewhat drained me out of my energy. Monday to friday, one job. Saturday to sunday, another job. Suddenly this holiday don't seems like a holiday to me anymore.
My weekday's job requires me to be a mailer, a receptionist, a clerk and a telephone operator. Answering of phone calls is very much dreaded. I prefer people calling and straight away telling me who they are looking for, so I can just look for the name in the name list and transfer the calls to the respective extension. However, it wasn't always so easy. Sometime, customers called and straight away they tell me their problems. "Hi, when I tried to print the graph chart, it shows yesterday's date instead of the current date. How?" "Ah, hello, is this HDB?" "Hey, where is ur office located? If I drive, where to I park my car? Which carpark?" These are just some of the questions encountered so far. They think I'm miss know-it-all, just shoot their questions but I'm not lei. Now I understand how a customer service operator felt. It's not that they purposely want to hold your calls for too long and transfer your calls until dunno which department lor but sometime really very difficult for them too especially in a company so big with 100 over staff. See the third question, asking me where to park their car. How should I answer this kind of question when I'm not even driving and who can I transfer the call to? Nobody. Then, there's the prank calls, calling without saying anything and the impatient callers, whereby asking them to repeat what they want equals to wasting their breath like that. Sometimes, I'm so scare that I'll received complaints. The rest of the job scopes are still manageable. Quite routine but I always forget to press the bell to open the door for the people to go out.
Saturday and sunday job was better, at least with lis and ly around, it's more fun. Appetite also improved. Four hours at East Coast patrolling. Paired up with Lis and the two of us, in our orange uniform just have to help others to spray insect repellants on. Good in the sense that there's no selling of the products. We are just sort of like doing some community service. Some curious people even thought we were sent down by Ministry of the Environment. However, I don't get it when some people don't appreciate our effort even when we were just trying to help them to prevent insect bites. They don't even have to pay a cent for that lor! Some joke that they themselves are the living insect repellant while others are sensitive to the chemicals. Maybe they got the mindset that it's only mosqitoes ma, No big deal la. Won't be so suay kena the aedes mosquitoes de. Or maybe they don't want to appear too kiasi like that. Whatever the reasons only they, themselves know ba. Anyway, noticed that those families with kids are most willing to let us spray on their kids but they, themselves usually won't want.
PS: Tomorrow one of my colleagues is taking leave. That means only left two of us. Pray hard there won't be so many trouble shooting calls to answer.
