~A great day at e Army Open House at SAFTI MI~ Initially, still afraid that there'll be nothing much to see and elisa and I are still thinking of plans in the noon, but nah, that place is so very very very the huge and there's so many activities that we had fun there from morning till night, and we still heavent really finished exploring the place~ =D
First stop, we had breakfast at clementi, den took a bus to JE for the free transport. The bus trip to JE was a bit drama, an uncle saw us and wanted to start a conversation with us, den he said, "XiaO mEi MEi, Xiao meI mEi, what's so funny?" Coz we were laughing away as usual... haha =D Actually, is nothing one la, but his voice and the way he keeps staring makes us felt like he's those uncles who would kipnap small kids one la... =X At JE, before we board the free bus, had to check our bags and use a sensor to sense our pockets for security reason.
When we reached the open house, we first saw the NAPFA five stations. Sit-ups, standing broad jump, etc. Look, look only la, never go try, coz long time no training le, so dun wanna become a laughing stock. Then, we move on, and took photos while posing in same of the stationary military vehicles. Finally got a change man... So exciting!!! But I think it's quite cramp to get in la, so many people moving in and out, and the vehicle is also not very spacious. Next we went to the second level and look at some of the army's display of equipments. Tried to hold one of the "dunno what it's called" gun, but too heavy for me le... =( Then, we also put on the helmat meant for viewing at things in the night time de... haha, got some sort of screen attached for the eyes de... very cute, den everything viewed through it will be greyish colour de... Later, tried handling with a different gun, lighter, so took a photo with that. YeA... first time too... =D Later, due to a light drizzle, rest and watched a small performance by the army guys, public, and a sec skool... Luckily the rain din last long, so continued exploring, and come to an outdoor place, saw how the army cook their food in the forest, how they use rope to trap animals and some exotic huts made from just branches... CoOl Eh... Pity, dun hav a chance to experience it, can only see see and take photos for memorial... Then, ate free lunch provided consisting of mixture of biscuits, noodles and rice. *YuM* After lunch, moved on to those tents there. Put on face colouring and tattos, and even learnt a bit of CPR, but I keep doing it the wrong way while my friend got it right the second try. Actually there still got teach us how to find the veins and do injections with a fake dummy. But the sight of the red colouring which really looks like real blood makes me sick le, so nv try also... There's also a mobile operation room, dentist, etc for the army in case of emergency opened to the public for view. Hmmm, dunno that they also get such treatments available... Also saw the equipment used in the mines field... Hmmm... quite an eye-opener...
In the evening, saw celebrities like Vincent Ng and Fiona Xie... Guess what, we two managed to squeeze our way thru and took photos with Vincent Ng... =D Actually also not that crowded la... Then, went to another exhibition showcasing what army life is like in the past and now... Last activities is the ride in the moving military vehicle~ Wear those green colour de heavy helmat. Extremly heavy, felt like getting a headache le, got to stand up inside and enjoy the night breeze. A great experience indeed. Finally, took the free bus to JE and it's home sweet home again... =)
PS: Simply love this kinda of open house, gives us the chance to went into places which are usually not open to the public and get to see lots of cute and friendly "ah bing ge"... =P hee... Think that most guys after joining army, will become more responsible and mature... Somemore, got one sir really very good, like a great father like that...haha...
